3. AWOL: Garth Irvine (very important appointment), Mike Luxton (on vacation - again!), Bill Smith (wintering in Escondido), John Baehr (awaiting a ride from Bill), Bill Moir (whereabouts unknown), Brian Kaban (son's hockey in Letherbridge) and Dan McLean (back east in Canterbury).

4. Health & Wellness: Appears as if Dave has well managed his recovery from a very serious operation. He's lost a bit of weight (good) and appears to tire more readily than before the op, however, the mending process is proceeding on schedule. Lookin' good, Dave- welcome back!

5. ASW discussion: None (after all, our man-in-Havana, Mike, was not here to lead us).

6. Automobile discussion: Honda rules (for now). Coincidentally, Ian and Don both acquired new 2013 Honda Accords in December, although, it appears as if the pilot had more shekels to invest than did the navigator. Like Don said, "Why should I spend the extra $$$ to have an onboard Navi system? I spent 28 years in the airforce and was never once lost." :-)

8. Parking: Richard provided info regarding refunds on veterans parking (one small way to reduce to frustrations of the Pay Park system). Save your original parking ticket(s) and mail to the Calgary Parking Authority (620 - 9 Ave SW, Calgary, T2P 1L5) along with a copy of your Service ID card and vehicle registration (if you don't have a veteran's plate). Drop off in person, if you prefer (0800 - 1630).

9. Condolences: Our VPI group would like to pass sincerest condolences to Dan on the sudden passing of his mother in Canterbury, NB.
